Bring back the funk this January as Lionsgate debuts the documentary Thunder Soul on DVD and Digital Download. Presented by Oscar® winner Jamie Foxx (Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, Ray, 2004), this heart-warming film about a high school band that became a funk phenomenon earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Documentary (2011) and garnered five Audience Award wins at film festivals including South By Southwest (2010) and the Los Angeles Film Festival (2010). The DVD release includes an audio commentary with director/producer Mark Landsman and editor Claire Didier and never-before-seen footage from the Prof & The Band documentary and is available on January 31st for a $19.98 suggested retail price.

New York City's premier jazz venue got the blues last April when Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton performed together in Rose Theater at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center for two sold-out shows dedicated to vintage blues. The extraordinary collaboration, billed as Wynton Marsalis & Eric Clapton Play the Blues, paired these musical virtuosos with members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra as they brought to life a repertoire of songs selected by Clapton and arranged by Marsalis.
