UK Street date: 1st December 2005
MART SANDER AND HIS SWING SWINDLERS REMEMBER THE MUSIC OF HENRY HALL AND THE BBC DANCE ORCHESTRA IN A NEW STATE OF THE ART RECORDING, DESIGNED TO GIVE AN AUTHENTIC 1930S SOUND.
Throughout the three decades of the BBC Dance Orchestra, it’s the five years of Henry Hall’s leadership which have been the most prominent in people’s minds. This album fills the listeners with the same excitement that made millions rush home to tune in to Henry Hall and his BBC Dance Orchestra over seventy years ago.
Many people will remember with fondness Henry Hall, who led the BBC Dance orchestra in daily broadcasts for many years, and whose Music Night was still popular into the 1960s. In his day, Hall was a big star. Now for the first time, Hall’s music and the smooth sound of the BBC Dance orchestra is being revived through in new state of the art recordings. "Five-Fifteen" was Hall‘s Signature tune, loved by millions and is the title of the new CD by the Bel Etage Swing Swindler, led by Mart Sander.

"Five fifteen was recorded in a studio specially designed to give an authentic 1930s sound, though of course with full modern digital quality. As well as the title track, the CD contains many of the standards made famous by the BBC Dance Orchestra, including of course "Radio Times"
