Mel Bay Records is pleased to announce the first CD from MB3, a new guitar trio featuring Jimmy Bruno, Vic Juris and Corey Christiansen, with Jay Anderson on bass and Danny Gottlieb on drums.

The players eagerly embraced this opportunity to bring new life to ten popular standards:

"We took tunes that have been done millions of times in every freshman jazz class and blew the dust off them to make an original statement," said Corey.

Each guitarist arranged tunes for the recording, which includes "Impressions", "Freedom Jazz Dance", and a unique rendition of "All Blues" featuring Corey’s slide work on a resonator guitar.

Corey, Jimmy and Vic released the first three CDs on Mel Bay Records. In July Vic and Corey released Live at the Smithsonian Jazz Café, their first DVD as a duo. Jimmy has recorded three DVDs for the label, including two from Chris’ Jazz Café in Philadelphia.
