The South of Everywhere, Jonathan Kreisberg's latest CD, is scheduled for release on September 18th.
Jonathan's second CD for Mel Bay Records and his sixth as a leader, The South of Everywhere features Matt Penman on bass, Mark Ferber on drums, Gary Versace on piano, and Will Vinson on alto sax.
For the liner notes, Jonathan told David Adler how the title track captures the essence of the recording:
I'm drawn to the southern parts of regions, whether it's in the U.S., Spain or Finland. This music has a feeling I associate with driving down that road. The song just feels like it's heading away from the harsh north to recharge in the south. While ideas may come from the north of the body, the raw energy comes from the south. That's what makes the ideas come alive.
CD release concerts are scheduled in New York City, Los Angeles, Berkeley, and Washington D.C. Details are available at www.jonathankreisberg.com.
Advance copies of The South of Everywhere will be available from Mel Bay in late August, and an exclusive interview with Jonathan will be published in the September issue of Guitar Sessions.
