The Bottesini Project Collaborates with Guitar Legend Nels Cline of Wilco for Bocumast Records Release

DENVER, CO (10.08.09)---

"Naima's Grass Pajamas" by The Bottesini Project will be released on Bocumast Records (voted Best Record Label in Westword's 2009 Best of Denver Issue) and available for digital download on October 20, 2009. For Bottesini's second release Paul Riola has employed some of the finest improvisers from the Denver area including CacheFlowe, Glenn Taylor (Glenn Taylor Orchestra), and Janet Feder (Fred Frith). He then augmented the ensemble with Guitar legend Nels Cline (Wilco, The Nels Cline Singers) and renowned bassist from San Francisco Keenan Wayne (Sutro). The album was recorded in a single afternoon and entirely improvised. "The last track called TaylorClineFeder stands out as a gorgeous improvisation by the musicians in the song's title." says David Kurtz, owner of Bocumast Records. "Its as if they have been playing together for years."

The Bottesini Project will celebrate their release with an intimate performance at Notably Fine Audio (2949 Larimer St) in Denver on Friday, October 16. The $15 ticket gets concertgoers a seat and exclusive CD version of the album, but tickets must be requested early as seating is very limited. This show will be filmed for an upcoming live dvd release. The release performance will feature: Paul Riola (Saxophone/Electronics), Mark Harris (Saxophone/Electronics), Roger Green (Guitar), Janet Feder (Prepared Acoustic Guitar), Glenn Taylor (Pedal Steel), Keenan Wayne (Bass), and Colin Bricker (Laptop).
