JAZZ FUSION SONGWRITER-MUSICIAN-PRODUCER-MUSIC PUBLISHER, JON HARTMANN DEBUTS MAY 11, 2003 ON CYBRORADIO.COM’S BROADCAST PLAYLIST
LOS ANGELES, CA --- In his near four decades of a well-orchestrated musical career path, Jon Hartmann has hit every note on an impressive scale of success with many noteworthy accomplishments. But May 11, 2003 (between 8-9:00 a.m PDT) Hartmann will hit a new note with music from his self-produced CDs, "3 If By Air" and "The 10th House" broadcast globally on www.cybroradio.com. His CD, "3 If By Air" is a modern rhythmic instrumental jazz fusion release, flavored with many up-tempo tunes. "The 10th House," takes the self-realization process to the next level transporting listeners to a new realm of jazz fusion with a Latin funk/rock-edge.
"These tunes attempt to take the listener on a sonic voyage, a telling of a story with sounds and melodies. I hope these songs would not be described as easy listening, because my aim is not really to relax listeners, but rather to make them sit up, and listen for the details in the solos and heads. These tunes are unique because they were not written and recorded by a committee of consensus, but by someone who has a distinct, if warped, view of the mixing of musical cultures. I have studied and played most of the worlds musical styles, so I bring a little bit of diversity to the party," states Hartmann.
Hartmann is a songwriter, musician, producer, music publisher and record label executive whose career has had some interesting twists and turns. He’s toured the world from his first overseas gig in Southeast Asia to entertain soldiers for the USO, to performing with Ike & Tina Turner in Germany with the Rolling Stones as audience spectators his talents have been recognized all over the globe.
A member of both, American Federation of Musicians and ASCAP, Hartmann has an extraordinary working biography which reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of stage performers within the music industry. In 1975, he wrote a song with Jimmy Whitney called "Goodness Knows" which was recorded by the now-King of Pop, Michael Jackson. He’s also performed with Dee Dee Bridgewater, The Staple Singers, Jaye P. Morgan, Oscar Brown Jr., Eartha Kitt, The Ink Spots, The Platters, Steve Lawrence, Morey Amsterdam, and Ann B. Davis.
After performing in numerous concerts and casuals in 1978, he stopped touring and started concentrating on writing music. From there he started his own band and a second career as a recording engineer, mixing his own albums. He is currently producing his own works and others on his own independent label, Jon Hartmann Records.
