and also at www.randyhalberstadt.com. There is a fine sense of humor in the authors writing and the book has been placed into distinctly helpful parts. Part 1 is "Picturing Jazz" and there are 8 parts to this book including a helpful glossary resources appendix index and a section about the author.
As a once upon a time pianist I can appreciate the work that went into writing this book. The book contains a section on ways to develop improvising that is priceless material and the section demystifying theory is excellent with time spend in clearly explaining the blues pentatonics among other topics.
Whether you are an aspiring jazz pianist looking for techniques and chord changes or experienced this book has invaluable information to share with you and it is material you can put to use immediately. This is a fine book to have and full of things a jazz pianist needs to know.
