Congratulations to Sher Music Company and the authors, Nelson Faria and Cliff Korman, for creating the first book which enables individual instruments to play along and interact with a Brazilian rhythm section in ways that entertain as well as educate. Including 2 excellent play-along CDs, this will be both a fun listening and reading experience.

The book contains eight chapters and a glossary. A spiral-bound paperback, it contains much information, such as how to play rio parts, and other items. The book covers Samba, Bossa Nova, Choro, Baiao, Afoxe, among other topics.

The sample parts and the song selection workouts are clear and well-presented. This is a topnotch book of its kind.INSIDE THE BRAZILIAN RHYTHM SECTION is a blessing in disguise for those seriously interested in learning about playing Brazilian music. It comes with 2 play-along CDs which are helpful and enjoyable listening as the reader goes over the written material. A great find!
