This album is one of the alltime great jazz albums in the history of jazz music. Trane really came out of his shell and let the world know that he was a force to be reckoned with. Tommy Flannagan plays great piano on this album, as well as Paul Chamber's bass solo On Syretta Song flute (killer solo). I have the CD with the Alternate Takes as well. It is very clear why the trackes on the original release were picked, not saying the other artists like Cedar Walton and Lex Humphries contributions were not valid as well. Truly a five star album and a must for any collector of jazz music
