Vibist, Matthias Lupri's CD, Window Up Window Down features all original compositions from Matthias. The opener, Children is a lovely vehicle stating off with some sweet sounds from Matthias, and sax player, Timo Verbole, building into a mid tempo arrangement with some effective soloing from Matthias, and the rest of the band. Freefall is an uptempo arrangement that showcases Matthias's ability to swing. Abstraction is a lovely slow ballad featuring both Timo, and Matthias's fluid playing, which adds to the composition in a fluid flowing manner.

This recording is recommended to those who love their Jazz straight up, with a lot of sincerity, drive, and dedication. Bravo, Matthias! Joining Matthias on this outing are Timo Verbole on tenor sax, Florian Feuser on bass, and Sebastiaan De Krom on drums. Matthias is currently residing in the Boston area, and aside from playing, is also teaching at the Berklee School of Music. I look forward to more recordings from this talented musician.
