D.D. Jackson really has scored the hat trick with his third CD. It's a collection of duet's with some of Jazz's greatest artists. These include James Carter, David Murray, and Hamiet Bluiett. Once again, Jackson plays inside and outside with the greatest of ease. He and his guests push each other to the limit. No other Young Lion composes with comparable skill, nor combines melody and rhythm with such exciting results. The disc starts out with James Carter, and ends with David Murray. It's a musical sandwich that begs for seconds (watch for Paired Down, Vol.2). This is Jazz at it's best.
