Midnight by Jeff Lorber

When I think that Mr. Lorber has finally let me hear his signature, he shows me that there is more to his name. He is still one of the most talented artists doing music today. If you liked him before, take my word for it, "You ain't heard nothin yet".

On his latest CD "Midnight", he does jazz, of course. He also takes us through ballads with funky piano interludes. There is even something in here for you Jimmy Smith fans. A funky organ? Listen to the tune "A Walk in the Park" during a jog (or a walk). I'm certain the exercise will be taken to a new level of enjoyment.

Jeff Lorber has put together a collage of writing and composition that again, moves the soul. With strokes of his musical brush, he carries us to areas of his creativity that have not previously been revealed. Do yourselves a favor. Don't wait until after midnight to pick this one up. It may not be there.
