Combustication by Medeski Martin & Wood

Well, first off, this band just smokes! They blew my mind from the first time I listened to the album. If I have bought this in LP form, I would have worn out the record by now. Thank God for CD's.I just recently found out that Combustication was not their first album. Only their first album on Blue Note. I will certainly have to find the others. From the Hip Hop/Funk/Jazz fusion of "Sugar Craft" to the laid back beatnik groove of "Whatever happened to Gus", the entire album keeps you guessing and begging for more. This is a great transition album for people interested in jazz that don't want to let down their rock/soul/hip-hop "hair" too long. M.M.W. made a believer out of me!
