Foolin by Kelley Love

Vocalist Tierney Sutton leads the Pandemonia Orchestra through some carefully arranged, yet fun compositions by Kelley Love. Love’s early upbringing consisted of a mixed bag of music listening experiences from Classical, Jazz to Rock music. He prides himself has being more of a listener than a player. Very important skill to have when trying to write orchestrations for an orchestra. Basie had it, as well as Ellington.

"Foolin’" starts off things with a wonderful vocal from Tierney Sutton. A catchy number that sails along with smooth playing and effective vocals from Tierney. Fine arrangement and playing from the band. There is also an instrumental version of this tune as well.

"Alligator" is an instrumental number, again featuring some nice playing and slick arranging from Kelley Love. What is nice about this number is how Kelley is able to make it all work in less than four minutes. Reminds me of what songwriting was like during the ‘30’s and’40’s. Brief and too the point.

"Being Seen" is certainly a number you can dance to. Bouncing arrangement with some nice horn arrangements perfectly complimenting the rest of the band.

There is something about the way that vocalist Tierney Sutton fits into the sound of this orchestra. Rather than being a vocalist seperate from the orchestra, Tierney blends in nicely with her smooth, never over powering vocal style. Check out " All Of It" for example. Balance is the key word here.

"Time" is a beautiful ballad featuring some beautiful flute Keiko Comfort and Mini Zabala. Carefully played with some lush, sweeping melodies from the band. Delicate in it’s execution but at the same time fragile. This is a joy for the ear as well as the heart.

What makes this band such a joy to listen too is how well the sound fits tightly and well integrated. This is a band with a mision. To play music that is fun to listen as well as to dance to. Crossing all age boundaries, many people will find this band to have much appeal, as well as a promising future. Hats off to Kelley Love for the excellent arranging, and compositions. You can tell that this man’s first love is the music.
