Charles Mingus: Mingus Moves by Charles Mingus

Another wonderful CD from the 32 Jazz series produced by Joel Dorn for The Masked Announcer! New material from Charles Mingus on bass, and the musicians accompanying him are Don Pullen on piano, Ronald Hampton on trumpet, George Adams on tenor saxophone and flute, Dannie Richmond on drums, with Honey Gordon and Doug Hammond on vocals on "Moves." Don Pullen, who is a master of piano styles, excels brilliantly on his own composition, "Newcomer." Other selections are "Canon," "Opus 4," "Wee," "Flowers for a Lady," "Opus 3." There is a strong dynamic unity and strength about this CD collection which makes it a must have for the jazz fan!
