Peggy Cone Sings by Peggy Cone

This debut recording heralds a bright new vocalist. Peggy Cone is a native New Yorker and appears here with a small group including Andrew Hall, bass; Vincent Jacqz, piano; Stefan Schatz, drums and Victor Jones, drums on 2 cuts.

The CD features Peggy Cone performing 13 tunes including one of her own "Dance of Love". The other songs are all standards and are well chosen to match Peggy's confident, sultry and swinging style. Among them are: I've Got a Crush on You, Here's That Rainy Day, That Old Feeling, Blue Skies, Love For Sale and Falling in Love Again. The trio is great with a genuine feeling for the singer's style. I was especially taken with the outstanding work of bassist Andrew Hall. I'd really like to see this really honest performer in a live session. She is truly captivating.
