The Feeling of Jazz by Tommy Newson and Ken Peplowski

This would be a good CD to give to a newcomer to jazz music, a collection that illustrates how really fine a medium jazz is! The musical selections are excellent. The performances of the musicians are excellent. Ken Peplowski on tenor saxophone, Tommy Newson on tenor saxophone, the skillful and many-talented Ben Aronov on piano, Mike Peters on guitar, Greg Cohen on bass, and Chuck Redd on drums appear together on such selections as "Only A Rose," "The Feeling of Jazz," "Too Late Now," Ben Aronov's innovative "Benny's Pennies," "All Alone," "Skylark," "Titter Pipes," "It's Sand, Man," "I'll Close My Eyes," Horace Silver's classic "Opus de Funk," "Love Come Back To Me." For somebody interested in being introduced to what jazz is about, this would be an excellent suggestion. For old-time jazz fans, this CD will be a delight to listen to, and savor! Each selection is a performance masterpiece of fine musicianship.
