One Bright Morning by Tony Quarrington

ONE BRIGHT MORNING showcases the talents of guitarist-composer Tony Quarrington in this excellent collection of 8 selections. In addition to his own musical compositions, there is Monk's "'Round Midnight," and Kaper's "Hi Lilly Hi Lo." Tony Quarrington is composer of over 500 jazz and pop songs, and also performs with jazz/swing vocalist Doreen Smith. Born in Saskatoon and brought up in Toronto, Canada, Tony Quarrington started his jazz career in 1970 in Canada with the Dave Priest Quartet. He is considered a major contemporary guitarists.

There is a little of everything good in these selections for ONE BRIGHT MORNING. A good word to describe the collection as a whole is to say it soars and takes the jazz listeners on a great flight!

Give a listen to his "One Bright Morning" and "Hi Lilly Hi Lo," for starters and then just enjoy it all especially his rendition of "'Round Midnight." This guitar CD grows on you in a pleasant manner! A neat adventure with many listening gems for guitar!
