When I first played this new CD, I thought, "Good grief, what a blast from the past by way of a disco-fusion format from the 1970s!" The more I listened, the more I found a mixture of many jazz expressions coming together in a tight, warm year 2000 fusion experience!

Mike Valeras and his group have produced a highly creative collection of songs, all written by Mike Valeras. The group is topnotch and tight, harmonic, and lyrical in performance. THE MIKE VALERAS GROUP is an excellent collection, including 6 songs of goodly length each, such as "Lo Phat," "Angry Lil' Greek Boy," "Mr. Wonderful," "On The Dogs," "Reunion Song," "Morse Code."

Each song is different, and each song has a different performance format. "Reunion Song" is a sweet knockout, and worthy of much airplay time! For a change of pace and something refreshingly different, give THE MIKE VALERAS GROUP a listen. You will be surprised! Nice!
