Ritmo Jazz Latino by Bobby Ramirez

There is a lot of wonderful talent on these 11 selections with every performer giving a fine performance. An excellent example is the duo with Bobby Ramirez on flutes and Daniel Zaremba on acoustic piano in the lovely jazz piece titled "Uno." Bobby Ramirez is showcased on RITMO JAZZ LATINO, and backed with some of the best Latino jazz musicians of the contemporary scene.

This CD should bring a quick and growing following to the work of Bobby Ramirez. This CD abounds with good sounds and good music in such songs as "Sao Paulo" "La Comparsa," "Mambo Chekere," the inventive and lively "Uno," "Afro Blue," "Historia De Un Amor," a great rendition of composer Henry Mancini's "Days of Wine & Roses," "Antonio Carlos Jobim's classic "Corcovado" ("Quiet Nights") with Bobby Ramirez on flute and vocals accompanied by pianist Daniel Zaremba, "Song For Maria," "Just Friends," and the Chelique Zarabia composition titled "Anciedad."

There is a wide range to choose from for the jazz listener, and he or she will find something of pleasure in these performances. It is the kind of CD that touches the soul with joy!

There is just not enough space to devote to each selection because to do so on this particular CD would take several pages. The production values on the CD are high, very high, and each selection stands alone and independent as a result ! Bobby Ramirez plays one great tenor saxophone solo on his arrangement of composer Carlos E. Almaran's romantic jazz piece titled "Historia De Un Amor," a 5:50 minute expression of jazz sounds superb! This song also features the jazz piano artistry of Mike Orta on acoustic piano with Ramese Colon on bass, with Daniel Zaremba on strings synthesizer, Ruben "Tutti" Jimenez on drums, Tony Verdejo on drums, and Carlos Planas on bongos.

Back on flute, Bobby Ramirez and Abel Pabon on keyboards give a subtle, sensual interpretation of "Days of Wine & Roses" that would put smiles of joy on composer Henry Mancini's face! Classic performances on this CD, every one a winner!

If you would like to hear a classic in the making already here to enjoy, listen to "Historia De Un Amor" and buy the classic collection on the CD titled RITMO JAZZ LATINO. This is a CD to savor and enjoy alone, or together with somebody you love! Wow! What a collection! Five stars all the way for Bobby Ramirez and his fellow musicians! Another selection to savor, composers Bobby Ramirez & Abel Pabon's joint effort, "Song For Maria."
