If there is anyone reading this review that is still hanging around the arid creek bed of neo-swing waiting for rain, check this album out instead. This is how swing music should be done: Tender melodies, rollicking choruses, subtly complex arrangements, a rhythm section that swings on a dime, and none of the excessive volume that characterized neo-swing.
It also helps that the musicians on this album know the history behind the song selections and the best way to play them. Galloway’s interpretation of "The Very Thought of You" is tailor made for a dance under moonlight, while the title track and "Oh, Sister Ain’t That Hot" get your foot tapping immediately with urgent, fast tempos and call-and-response solos.
