Come Dream With Me by Jane Monheit

Vocalist Jane Monheit's second Release " Come Dream with Me" is perfect for winding down from a stressful day with a glass of white wine. Her voice is pleasing and the tempo's are slow. She has included some classics from the SongBook including "Something to Live for", "Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most", "So Many Stars" and "Blame it on my Youth." Her versions of " I'm Through with Love" and "Hit the Road to Dreamland" would be perfect in a Woody Allen Score with their tasteful and correct readings.

There is a sentimental version of "Over the Rainbow" and a one of Joni Mitchell's compositions, "As perfect compositions, "A Case of You". Her take on "If" reveals some echoes of Faith Hill and Shania Twain. The problem with "Come Dream With Me" is that is verges on Lawrence Welk Jazz. It is so polite and careful it would provide great backup at a Senior Citizen Brunch. But if you are looking for background music for you Dinner Party or some tunes to accompany a soak in the tub "Come Dream with Me" would be your pick.
