For those interested in Brazilian jazz and world music, O PIANO DE CLAUDIO SANTORO, performed by gifted pianist Gilda Oswaldo Cruz will be a powerful, entertaining listening experience. Flawless piano solo work is evident.
I was reminded of the musical expression of George Gershiwn in these lovely, intricate compositions, that strongly inviting and intriguing approach to the classical with jazz motifs. The theme of this fine music is Brazil. There is a gentle surreal feel to the music.
If you like Brazilian music and Brazilian jazz, this CD collection is perfect. Selections include six long, enjoyable compositions, such as "Quatro Pecas e Pequena Toccata," "Seis Pecas," "Balada," "Doze Preludios," among others. I enjoyed each selection and came back again to hear "Balada" many times. A fine, artistic work, full of verve and imagination.
