Red Top by Paul Kendall and Bob Leto

Saxophonist Paul Kendall and drummer Bob Leto bring a mixture of original bebop tunes in a nine-track album, "Red Top." The duo met while playing at Sonny's Place in New York in the mid-80s.

Some of the tunes this duo brings may sound familiar to jazz fans--"I Remember You" and "Secret Love." "Minority" is an exuberant '50s bop classic featuring Bobby Forrester on a Hammond B3 organ.

The selections on this album aren't new, having been previously recorded in 1999 and 2000. But "Red Top" could become appealing to a wider audience as Kendall and Leto seek to showcase their inspirational work.
