Yea, the name of the band is a big mouthful but man, what a bite! Recorded big ‘n brassy during a four night stay at the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild in Pittsburg, quickly becoming trumpet legend John Faddis drives this powerhouse nineteen man ensemble through the heart of Gillespie-land.

Soaring from Dizzy’s original charts, ‘Things To Come’, ‘A Night In Tunisia’, ‘Manteca’, Benny Golson’s ‘Stablemates’, "Eamon’ and ‘Ray’s Idea’ propel to life. With such players as Jimmy Heath - tenor sax, Slide Hampton and Jay Ashby - trombones, John Lee - bass, James Moody - tenor sax, flute and Frank Wess - alto sax, flute, on the the team the DGAASBB re-interpret and re-invigorate some of Diz’s finest.
