Courage in Closeness: Live in Boston by David Zoffer & Adam Larrabee

COURAGE IN CLOSENESS is the exciting duo debut of David Zoffer and Adam Larrabee. Both men are composers, and this debut CD collection gives the jazz listening audience 11 songs to savor, which includes a Zoffer arrangement of Joplin's "Solace" and Zoffer's arrangement of a Chopin piece in the intricate song "Chopin Noc-turned." This is an imaginative outing and jazz fans will enjoy the inventiveness of this duo as they illustrate what excellent contemporary jazz is all about!

11 selections comprise the CD collection. Among the enjoyable works are found "Talk To Me," "Here Comes Spider," "For JMZ," "Courage in Closeness," "Never Even," among others. The playing time is 63:17 minutes.

For a duo debut, this is topnotch entertainment and the performances of Zoffer on piano and Larrabee on guitar are superb. COURAGE IN CLOSENESS has a lot going for it and it succeeds brilliantly. It was recorded live at New England Conservatory.

For something different, something lyrical, something filled with fine compositions and inventive performances, these young men from Boston, MA have created a winner.

Perfect melodic performances. Highly recommended.
