MUSIC FROM A PASSIONATE TIME is an enjoyable outing for fans of Joel Press. His masterful use of various instruments makes this a nice collection in all ways for the listening audience. There are 15 original compositions in this collection, and each one in its own way explores new jazz horizons. Among the many excellent songs are found "Prelude for Connie," "Racio's Dance," "Bud in Paris...for Bud Powell," "Snakebite," "Waltz Of The Assassins," the highly memorable "Soaring," and "Michael's Dance." The jazz audience will find much to admire in this unique collection. Very nice listening experience!
