Also In White by Bill Wells Trio

With simple means, a warm little thing of beauty was created: "Also InWhite" opens jazzily, moves on to a piano piece, adds trumpet and someThielemansish harmonica, then focuses again on acoustic guitar, etc... Thealbum counts ten honest, introspective instrumentals which could make eventhe most mediocre arthouse film a moving masterpiece. With this second albumon Stephen Pastel's Geographic imprint, Glasgow jazzman Wells bringsunclassifiable cinematic lo-fi jazz that should appeal to any fan of altrock, roots, Toots, Tindersticks, Tuxedomoon, the "Made To Measure" seriesor the Disques du Crépuscule sound, etc. etc. One lesser aspect about thiscd: the sound quality of these low budget recordings isn't always up to DaveBrubeck standards... But do your ears a favour and show some heart, will ya?
