Until the Stars Fade by Anita Wardell quartet

If you like real swinging improvising jazz singers this is the girl Obviously steeped in the bebop tradition Anita Wardell is a musicians singer. She scats just like a horn, great lines, with a great feel and interacts with the band. She has chosen a selection of fairly well known standards and it's a real group effort! I haven't heard jazz vocals as exciting as this in a long time.

Not only can she improvise like a demon, she can sing a ballad with such tenderness and honesty and you feel as though you are right there with her. She's right up there with the best with a sound all her own! Check out this CD. the band is swinging, watch out for Robin Aspland on piano, something else!the real thing...
