Need a little Christmas this very minute?
Check out Michael Buble’s
Let It Snow.
The singer’s self-titled debut album has sold more than one million copies. The latest effort is a holiday treat as Buble offers his personal interpretation of four Christmas standards,
Let it Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow,
The Christmas Song,
This Christmas and
White Christmas, plus one you don’t hear every day,
Grown-Up Christmas List.
On the opener, Buble delivers a lively rendition of
Let It Snow that would make Sinatra proud. In fact, while adding his own personal touch, Buble’s style is like a composite of Ol’ Blue Eyes and Harry Connick Jr.
Buble slows things down with a homey rendition of
The Christmas Song. This delivery evokes images of a family gathered by the fireplace, with Dad on piano, accompanied by piped-in strings and soft horns.
He waxes romantic on
Grown-Up Christmas List. Then in a vocalist/piano duet, he turns the stretch with a charming rendition of
I’ll Be Home for Christmas.
The disc closes with a soft-jazz/easy listening delivery of
White Christmas.
