Mixed Grill by Sandy Sasso

Versatile vocalist Sandy Sasso's debut CD, Mixed Grill, is a collection of fine songs that range from Rogers and Hammerstein's "It Might As Well Be Spring," to Johnny Mercer and Harold Arlen's "One For My Baby." One of the better songs on the CD, "My Mama's Here To Guide Me, is a heartfelt composition with the lyrics written by Sandy. In addition to the great songs and vocals, this recording also puts forth a high production standard, the professional excellence of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, and thoughtful liner notes penned by Christopher Riddle. Sandy's long-awaited CD is a treat for those who enjoy classic songs sung by a great jazz vocalist, and I look forward to hearing more of her music.
