What a nice collaboration of consummate vocal & pianistic artistry. Iqua & Steve Colson ply their respective craft with a self-affirmation, aligned to their obvious journeyman experience. Iqua is her own vocalist, but she can turn a phrase with a Sarah-esque refinement & polish. The quality of the Colson's originals contained herein also display the degree of reverence they have for music........They care enough about their art, making it come alive for us their listeners. After listening to this disc, I came away with a deeper understanding & appreciation for the system I'm so proud to be part of......namely, the jazz idiom.
