This fine CD project is anything but 'common.' Let me say right away too, that Zimmer is quite the formidable composer. His 'A Whole New You' is a study in traditional classic bebop, as he borrows nice ideas from the lives & music of our past & contemporary jazz masters, which he brings to fruition. All Zimmer's sidemen are great improvisationalists as well, presenting their craft with taste, flair, & originality. There is a level of undimished interpretive skill, an assortment of variant distinctive style, hard drive, as well as a poignancy which makes this CD a disc one might include in one's area of collection considered 'special.'
