I have to confess that I'm grooving as I review & totally imbibe the towering talents of Ron Carter-bass, James Williams (RIP)-piano, Billy Pierce-reeds, Kenny Washington-drums...........As they hold up the fine vocalise of jazz singer Frank Jackson. The 'smart' musicians, singers like Jackson, et. al. will surround themselves with this type of awesome artistry to insure as close to a perfect project that is humanly possible. The opening volley of 'You Go To My Head' is delivered by Jackson with a musical authority, plus a certain idiomatic diversity evident in his easy vocal intonation. I'll cut to the chase. This disc is a win-win winner!
