Michel Camilo is one of the most gifted of contemporary jazz pianists. This SOLO release is a classic jazz CD in the making. His skills are wonderfully in tune with the song, and each performance is a perfect example of his intimate keyboard techniques. There are twelve songs in the collection. In addition to his own remarkable compositions, there are also songs by George Gershwin and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Among the songs are found such memorable performances as "A Dream," "Our Love Is Here To Stay," "Luiza," "'Round Midnight," "Someone To Watch Over Me," and "Corcovado (Quiet Nights)." SOLO is the perfect collection for the jazz listener wanting to hear some incredibly fine jazz performances by a master of jazz piano. Highly recommended.
