Big Apple jazz pianist, Lenore Raphael is one of those hidden national artistic treasures the USA should be thankful for. She interprets The American Songbook.............'OH SO WELL' through our beloved jazz idiom. Her new disc of great covers, 'A Beautiful Friendship' is as well, a beautiful combination of superb standards delivered with delicate melodies, powerful rhythms, challenging harmonies, & syncopation that can only be delivered by one who has paid her journeyman's dues. Artistically, I have to pronounce that Lenore's originality, & the emotional rendering of her music is delivered with grace, power, & empathy. We, her listeners can only become better assimilators of jazz in general as we take in her powerful & prodigious musicianship.
