Take Me Home by Kaz Simmons

Such global talent........Such few moments in time to peruse.......The U.K's Jazz singer, Kaz Simmons is a young vocal bomb waiting to explode onto the jazz idiom. It's timely, & I might add: 'we're glad to have her.' Kaz treats her music with a viable 'traditional sound' as she explores her take on her choice of great standards. And, Kaz & her fine group mess around nicely with such artistically important things as dynamics, skillful syncopation, & most noteful, her ability to craft colorful tapestries of vocal sound. All in all, Kaz has built a rich melodic project with a ton of lovely flowing textures of musical utterance. Kaz.........welcome to the vocal jazz world.

(NB: A small 'whooops' to the recording company who could have made Kaz's voice sound much better with a different choice of reverb which I feel didn't 'rise & fall' on her voice as naturally as it might have. I'm saying this from my years of experience as a CD producer of some (13) vocal big band CDS. That said, the 'group mix & mastering settings' sounded quite warm!)
