6X6 by Royce Campbell

It's guys like jazz idiom CD producer Royce Campbell who spoil me as a reviewer. Can you dig my all time favorite jazz guitarists in one sitting: The incarnations of Larry Coryell, Pat Martino, Bucky Pizzarelli, Dave Stryker, & a personal favorite whom I worked with in a quartet setting in Boston yrs. ago when he played bass as well as he plays guitar today........John 'Crumbles' Abercrombie. This is a grouping of towering jazzers, dealing with their music with utter sophistication, improvisational riffs, as well as melodic, harmonic, & rhythmic articulation....................All from the wide backdrop of a full spectrum of musical color. This is a compendium of (5) players consummate in their combined technical skills. The great music we are treated to is both inquisitive & bold, as well as expansive & imaginative. I can't resist a robust 'WOW' after relishing the musical pleasure & company of these five prodigious players. Uhm Uhm good!!
