One of three recent releases - spanning 2005-2006 -- by Danish guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Robin Taylor, this effort generates additional credence to the artist’s enthusiasm and divergence. This outing serves as an ode to the legendary ‘70s prog-band "Secret Oyster." With longtime affiliate saxophonist Karsten Vogel (ex-Secret Oyster), the leader of this date pursues synth-driven military march processions and jubilant, progressive-rock inclinations. Taylor cranks his axe up on occasion while also complementing Vogel’s sweet-toned sax lines with breezy single note licks and more. The majority of these works feature upbeat choruses and climactic anthem like motifs - all performed with an enactment of good cheer.

Taylor merges ethereal EFX with mysterious sojourns and his rhythm section’s solid back-beats. At times, he rings up memories of Secret Oyster with a mélange of interlacing treatments. On the piece titled "Vue (Time Bolero)," Taylor’s use of a mellotron-like synth sound provides a hallowing edge to a Ravel based progression, ultimately leading to the band’s full-fledged aerial assault. In addition, guest guitarist Jon Hemmersam finalizes this piece with raucous guitar licks offset by Vogel’s catchy phrasings.

It’s partly about the artist’s ability to juxtapose jazz-rock with classic Euro-rock ideologies into a distinctive series of events. Here, Taylor blends a sense of drama with chops-centric platforms and memorably melodic grooves. And his overall muse is supplanted with a child-like fascination for invention.
