EQUINOX TO DELIVER JAM ADDRESS

The Equinox Music Festival announced today that it will deliver a Jazz Appreciation Month Address (JAM), to herald the April celebration of the America’s greatest music. The Address will be posted on the Equinox Music Festival website (www.jcmcsite.com) for the month of April.

With a Congressional Resolution, initiated by Representative John Conyers (D-MI) in 1987, to declare jazz "a rare and valuable treasure", to the yearly festivities by the Smithsonian Institute, April has been designated as Jazz Appreciation Month. In addition to the new Jazz Appreciation Month Address, Equinox will present the East Coast debut of the Grammy-nominated Anthony Brown’s Asian American Orchestra and the critically-acclaimed, David Murray and the Gwo Ka Masters.

"We wanted to contribute to this celebration", stated Equinox President, J. Thomas Duffy. "With all that is going on in the world at this time, we believe in the healing forces of this music, and it’s ability to unite people in peace and joy".

Equinox sponsors, WERS 88.9 Radio of Emerson College and WICN Public Radio in Worcester, MA are contributing as Presenters of Equinox’s Jazz Appreciation Month programming.
