Hiroshima Signs Deal With Heads Up

Since the mid-70's, Hiroshima have established themselves as one of instrumental world music's most innovative and dynamic acts, and their new release promises to be a high point in their lengthy discography.

"We're thrilled to be working with Hiroshima," commented Dave Love, President of Heads Up International. "Their distinctive East-meets-West approach to performance, composition and recording places them in the forefront of the contemporary music scene.

Multi-instrumentalist Dan Kuramoto, the band's leader and producer, remarked, "Hiroshima has always been an attempt to create a unique, evolving, multicultural American music, like a mirror of our Pacific Rim communities. After 20 years, we are energized with the sense that our best work is in front of us. The opportunity to be with Dave Love and Heads Up positions us perfectly to do just that."

Formed in Los Angeles, CA in 1974 by Dan Kuramoto and Japan native June Kuramoto--one of the world's leading koto players--Hiroshima became a thriving and pioneering instrumental ensemble with the addition of master taiko dummer Johnny Mori, drummer/percussionist Danny Yamamoto and Hawaiian jazz keyboard sensation Kimo Cornwell. In a career that spans more than two decades, Hiroshima has performed for countless fans around the world, while their extensive catalog of albums has sold over three million copies internationally.
