press release

Unique and exciting bebop jazz singer Anita Wardell has just released a new CD "Until The Stars Fade" on Symbol records (uk). Recently returned to London from her other home Adelaide, Australia,(touring and teaching masterclasses at Adelaide university) Anita is now concentrating on the promotion of her new CD which critics have hailed as "the genuine article" (Swing journal Japan April 2002)......"her scatted lines on Make Someone Happy, tell a story in themselves....clear instrumental conception through convoluted chord changes"....Mojo Magazine, July 2002, London.

Following in the tradition of the great jazz vocalists such as Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Betty Carter and Mark Murphy, Anita's work is celebrated by some of the world's greatest living Jazz singers. "...In her work I hear history and freshness....a singer with a natural talent for the rhythms....singers like her are rare." Mark Murphy. "...a marvelous improviser." Sheila Jordan.

"Until The Stars Fade" is available from Anita's website.
