STUCK at Coda, NYC, Sat. Dec. 7 at 9 pm

"Simultaneously off this planet and soothingly pop and indescribable," says WPRB Princeton University Radio’s Dr. Cosmo about STUCK, a NYC-based group with Chisa on vocals, Pat Cahill on Chapman Stick and trumpet, Alex Fortuit on drums and Matt Pavolka on bass. Having broadcast an on-air p-ART-y with two live sets of their signature groovy, jazzy, just-a-tiny-bit-pop fantasies from the WPRB studios just last Friday night, STUCK is now headed for a show at the swanky new club Coda, located at the base of the Empire State Building at 34 East 34th Street in NYC (phone 212-685-3434; admission $10, 21+ yrs old only) on Saturday, December 7th at 9 pm.

"Think of diving into a glass of champagne, exploring sonic miracles with every bubble," (J.Koehn, ejazznews.com). STUCK’s show at Coda promises to be the perfect champagne cocktail for a Saturday night. While Fortuit (drums) and Pavolka (bass) perpetuate the ever-transforming grooves, Cahill fills the room with synth-y stereo sonics and all manner of wham-bam flim-flam on the Chapman Stick, and Chisa bubbles with a sweetness that tickles your nose. All together, they’re just the right speed to set you off.

And wherever else you may head after the show, you won’t want to leave without picking up a copy of STUCK’s brand new CD "We’re STUCK". In addition to the STUCK regulars, the CD features guest artists Judi Silvano on flute and Mika Pohjola on piano. In the first month of its release, "We’re STUCK" is getting airplay at several college radio stations, and getting plenty of nice press, too. Joshua Kline (jazzreview.com) says "We’re STUCK" is "imbued with a delicious sense of humor, an inspired gaiety and a smoldering sexuality".
