The perfect blend of Chisa’s voice and Pat Cahill’s trumpet on the coda of "I don’t understand" (track #3) for example -- is a STUCK signature that tells you something about their intense collaborative relationship. She’s the prankster muse with the sometimes sublime, sometimes silly lyrics. He’s the thinker and maker, using the uniqueness of the Chapman Stick to bring together fast-and-furious melodies, lush, contemporary harmonies, and all manner of odd synthesized noise to hang together as a very personal sort of music. Joining them are drummer Alex Fortuit, bassist Matt Pavolka and percussionist Loui Terrier who are the groove force of STUCK. In addition to the STUCK regulars, "We’re STUCK" features guest artists Judi Silvano on flute and Mika Pohjola on piano.
The "We’re STUCK" CD release p-ART-y will be on Saturday, October 19th at underground club "bpm" (237 Kent Street, between N. 1st and Grand Streets) in Williamsburg in Brooklyn. STUCK performs at 10 pm. The evening will also feature performances by Japanese Afro-funk group Akoya at 9 pm and midnight rockers Electric Turn to Me at 12 mn. There is no cover, but a $5 donation is requested at the door. BYO is OK. A free STUCK shotglass will be given away with every CD purchase made at the party!
