6 º Seminar of modern music and improvisation

An initiative of Monforte de Lemos's Town hall in collaboration with the County council of Lugo.

You present with musical knowledge that want to approach the modern music.
Persons interested in extending knowledge on the language used in the different styles of the modern music.
Professional, semiprofessional musicians or students with the need to extend his resources for the interpretation, the improvisation, the scout, the creation, etc...
Teachers who do or want to do music in the classrooms. In the seminar they had extended his pedagogic resources.
Poderan take part in the seminar musicians of any instrumental speciality
. The groups will practise these contents in a digest adapted to his level and composed by topics of different styles.
. The workgroups will be formed in agreement with the theoretical and instrumental level of them alumn@s.
. The group - initiation will be formed for alumn@s of 12 years in forward and with basic knowledge of instrument.
. The assistants will receive a supporting diploma at the end of the seminar.
. Throughout the week pupils and teachers will have the opportunity to take part in diverse musical meetings organized in Monforte de Lemos's different places.
. The squares are limited and they were assigned on order of inscription.
. The participants of the seminar will have to take his instrument, except pianists and baterists.
. All the participants must bring a due identified easel.
. The coordinator and the teachers will study the requests for in order that it chooses the level adapted to every pupil.

Iñaki Askunze (saxophone)
" Prize of Honor " of San Sebastian's Conservatoire. He studied in Berklee Collage of Music of Boston where it graduates with the degree of " Great Cum Laude " in Interpretation and Composition. Teacher of Harmony and Arrangements in " Musics's Workshop " of Barcelona. Teacher in the speciality of Jazz of Harmony, Arrangements, Composition and I Curve in the Top Conservatoire of Music of the Basque Country (Musikene) and of Composition in the Top Conservatoire of Music Paul Sarasate of Pamplona. The director of " Pyrenees Jazz Orchestrates ".
Dee Jay Foster (double-bass and down electrical)
Graduate in the Berklee College of Music, of Boston. He studies with Pat Martino, Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano, between others. It touches and records in Boston and New York with artists as Hal Crook, Ian Froman, Bob Gulloti, between others. In 2005, and chosen for Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter like one of three finalists for the " Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz " in The Angels. In 2006 it touches in San Francisco, with Mark Levine, Barry Finnerty, and Mel Martin.
Joan Díaz (piano)
Play Piano and keyboard . It took part in International Festivals of Jazz as those of Barcelona, Terrassa, San Sebastian, La Paz, Quito, Essakane or Leverkussen. Along his professional path it recorded a thirty of discs. As leader published Mostrebú, Dalirògenia, Spanish Wah Wah i We sing Bill Evans. It composed music for cinema and television (Hotel room, Krampack i in the city is an example). It released audio-visual spectacles since " centre It of the món ", "Dalirògenia" i "Electra", a spectacle of dance.
There received the prize probably pianist of the year who grants the AMJC in several occasions. Finalist of the prizes ARC of 2006.
Mamen Bautista (Initiation, clarinet, down electrical, voice)
Graduate in Musical teaching, Teacher of clarinet
Stands out his participation in numerous activities, as Didactic Concerts organized by different schools as teacher and music (clarinet and low clarinet).
It takes part in cértames, festivals and concerts of diverse nature with the Band of the Musical Association Grau de Gandia. Component of the group of merger "Andergrau" (down, guitar and voice), component of the group of ska-fanfare "Semenéska" (touching down electrically, clarinet and low clarinet).
Ramon Prats (battery)
The Catalan Ramon Prats, graduates in battery jazz in the High school of Music of Catalonia (ESMuC)
It took part in different seminars of jazz with teachers as Dave Liebman, Kurt Rossenwinkel, or Judy Niemack. It touched in several festivals of jazz as that of Terrassa, Getxo, Sardinia, Madrid, Valencia, Ibiza ... and he has shared scene with figures of the Catalan jazz: Joan Díaz, Rai Ferrer, David Mengual, Dani Perez and others like Perico Sambeat, Martyrdom, Hope Spalding, Greg Ward, Ryan Blotnick or Larry Price.
Nowadays there forms a part of groups as Adel Lee Davis Big Band (published CD), Mediterraneum Ensemble (published DVD), Karión (published CD), Apnea (It Ropes Cagigal Quartet) and Nins7.
Ramon Prats together with Albert Cirera they form Duot, a musical offer based on the dialog, the improvisation the game and the creativity between both musicians.
Celia Mur (voice)
Vocalist of classic, Flemish and modern jazz of formation guided by his father the composer and from Granada guitarist Antonio Fernandez de Moya.
He studied in the Conservatoire of Music of Granada, Barcelona and NYC (with Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton and Barry Harris) as well as in the Associated Board of Royal Schools (London) where if diploma in classic all that.
It has three CDs published in Spain: "Footprints" (Satchmo 2001), " The flowers of my life " (Satchmo 2003) and "Colored" (Amber 2005) and numerous collaborations with other artists between them which stand out Raúl Alcover, Granada Big Band, Watery Michael Ríos and Kiko Aguado.
His is necessary to emphasize last recording, "Sharm", a production that it carried out in Nyc and in Zurich, for the one that possessed musicians and friends of exception (Antonio Sanchez, Good Street, Mark Turner, Chris Wiesendanger, Antonio Campos ...). Edited in 2009 by the record London stamp " Rhythm and Muse ".
This way even his work is in process of edition " In sentimental Duke " where he collaborates with the group Fat Cats

Top teacher of saxophone, teacher of Secondary, in the speciality of Music. The director of the Big Band "Tejina", with which there took part in the 1 ª edition of the festival of jazz of La Laguna.
