Artists Announced for 15 Consecutive Weeks of
2010 Summer Jazz Series
Longest running jazz series in country brings
dynamic musicians to intimate setting
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. April 28, 2010 General Manager Paul Devitt of Hyatt Regency Newport Beach announced today the artist schedule for the annual Hyatt Regency Newport Beach 2010 Summer Jazz Series. Building on the success of the past 18 years, this summer’s stellar line-up of 15 revered jazz acts embodies exceptionally talented vocalists, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists.
"With an ensemble of top musicians in the genre for the 2010 series, this year’s outstanding group of performers showcase a range of jazz sonance from traditional to contemporary and smooth jazz, to R&B and big band," said Event Producer and Promoter Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald of Wendy Jayne Productions, Inc. "Our vision this year as the new event management company is to enhance the popular series with expanded talent, increase outreach to the public, heighten community involvement and sponsorships, and give an overall polished identity to grow the series for years to come."

From June 25 through October 1, every Friday night (and a special show on July 4),* a diverse collection of jazz musicians will entertain audiences at the intimate outdoor amphitheater, surrounded by a serene and lush landscape, at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. Producer Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald and his wife Wendy founded Wendy Jayne Productions, Inc. founded in 1995. As a concert producer and promoter, Fitz has been instrumental in establishing the smooth jazz community in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. For 12 years Fitz has partnered with the McCallum Theatre for the annual "Fitz’s Jazz Café" with over 100 shows to date featuring top name talent including Al Jarreau, Chris Botti, Patti Austin, Euge Groove, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Diana Krall and Manhattan Transfer to name a few.
