J-Mood Records Announces New Jazz CD Release: Roberto Magris Quintet "Mating Call"
Kansas City, Missouri, May 1, 2010- The J-Mood Record Label based in Kansas City, Missouri is pleased to announce the release of the "new" Roberto Magris Quintet straight-ahead jazz CD entitled "Mating Call" recorded at Mad Dog Studios in Burbank, California.
This highly anticipated straight-ahead jazz project builds on the great success of the Roberto Magris Trio CD entitled "Kansas City Outbound" recorded in Kansas City with the late legendary acoustic bassist, Dr. Art Davis, Jimmy "Junebug" Jackson, drums and Zack Albetta, on drums.
"For "Mating Call", we assembled some stellar musicians from across the country and across cultures", states music impresario Paul Collins of J-Mood Records. "To me it is very important to reflect how much Roberto has grown musically through his great compositions and musical arrangements but also how much jazz has grown in this generation. We are curators of this music and we must leave impressions on the next generation of how serious we are about jazz wherever it is found. To me, this project makes that statement."
Joining Roberto Magris on "Mating Call" is the drum legend and versatile musical stylist Idris Muhammad from New Orleans, LA now residing in New York, NY, Paul Carr, tenor and soprano sax man from Washington, D.C, Michael O’Neill, tenor sax man from San Francisco, California and acoustic bassist, Elisa Pruett from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Another release by the Roberto Magris Quintet and J-Mood Records entitled: "Morgan Rewind: A Tribute to Lee Morgan" is scheduled for release later this year. Look for other titles planned and scheduled by J-Mood Records.
The "Mating Call" CD is distributed around the world by CD Baby.com also available through its affiliated retail distributors and can be digitally downloaded from a number of digital content providers.
