The Fats Waller Festival, celebrating Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller, known as one of the most ingenious of all stride pianists, an exceptional composer and a gifted entertainer with a relentless sense of humor, includes two nights of sensational music and a Pre-Concert Festival of live music, food and beverage samples, and more providing an excellent opportunity for guests to mingle, hear great music, and contribute to an acclaimed cultural institution.
The Fats Waller Festival brings back the spirit of the riotous music of the funniest figure in all of American music, Fats Waller himself. The spirit of the pudgy prankster lives on through a talented cast of singers, pianists, and other musicians.

WHO: Under the musical direction of composer, arranger, and saxophonist Andy Farber, a cast of musicians will re-animate the theatrical side of the Fats Waller Songbook. Entertainer, singer, dancer, and performer Ben Vereen will serve as host and perform. The rhythm section includes pianist Eric Lewis, bassist Ben Wolfe, guitarist Doug Wamble, and drummer Alvester Garnett. Along with Andy Farber on saxophone, the horn section includes clarinetist and saxophonist Dan Block and trumpeter Jon-Erik Kellso.
