The West Bend Sunrise Rotary, producers of the annual Ziegler Kettle Moraine Jazz Festival, announced today it is making a $10,000 donation to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. The funds are a portion of the proceeds derived from the 2005 jazz festival, which was held September 9 10. The donation is being made to Rotary International Foundation, which will distribute the funds to local relief projects in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.
According to Patricia Fabian, Ziegler Kettle Moraine Jazz Festival chairperson, the event is extremely pleased to be able to offer humanitarian aid assistance. "The festival planning committee and the Sunrise Rotary Club sympathizes with those that were affected and displaced by Hurricane Katrina," she said. "Our club has a longstanding commitment to providing assistance not only to our community, but to individuals that have suffered a loss or require special assistance. Our hope is that this contribution will play a role in allowing residents throughout the southeast to return to their homes."
