Keith Jarrett, Jack DeJohnette & Gary Peacock Return to TD Toronto Jazz Festival June 30 - Four Seasons Centre - Tickets on Sale Monday, March 1, 2010
Toronto One of the most vital forces in jazz, Keith Jarrett will return to centre stage for the TD Toronto Jazz Festival on Wednesday, June 30 at the Four Seasons Centre. Often described as the preeminent jazz group interpreting standards today, Jarrett will be joined by drummer Jack DeJohnette and bassist Gary Peacock.
Unquestionably one of the world’s greatest virtuoso pianists, Keith Jarrett is a pioneer of jazz-rock fusion and has revived and re-defined the art of playing improvisational concerts. On par with the likes of Tatum, Parker, Coltrane and Ellington, Jarrett is one of the most diversely inspired geniuses.
Also known as the Standards Trio, Keith Jarrett, Jack DeJohnette and Gary Peacock are approaching their third decade of unequaled success and, as a result, play at the highest peaks of musical creativity and communication. Jazz’s most consistently creative piano trio is also certainly one of the most enduring, continuing to record and perform live since their first release, Standards, in 1983.
The TD Toronto Jazz Festival, celebrating its 24th anniversary this year, runs from June 25 July 4, 2010. Get ready to kick off summer as the city’s largest music festival presents free concerts and workshops, late night jam sessions and some of the biggest names in jazz. It is a musical celebration like no other!
